As a surfacer on this film I was tasked with the visual development of the shaders, materials and texture maps for characters, environments and props. Please scroll through the images to see my work.
I created the skin, fabric and hair shaders as well as painted all associated texture maps.

For the tshirt shader, I included a switch so that 4 different logos could be selected on the fly.

I created the floor, walls and ceiling of this large industrial space.
Large flat specular assets like this metallic floor can look CG, so special maps to control fresnel values were used to add detail in the reflectivity at low angles.

A fun part of this asset was creating evidence of the story point that Minion had been here painting the floor with a red 'x'. So I created a footprint brush and added that extra touch.
I did the walls, windows, floor and many of the 'blueprint' type of set dressing.
I surfaced the wall, floor and ceiling as well as much of the large industrial machinery.
I did the floors and many of the hanging notes.
